Information on personal data processing
This Privacy Policy explains how FIDEA processes personal data when our services are used within the framework of funding attraction services for Competence Centers, using the Competence Center Management System (hereinafter KCVS) and/or the FIDEA website https://www.fidea.lv. This policy applies to the processing of all types of personal data received by FIDEA from customers, visitors to our website, job applicants, Competence Centers, users of the Competence Center management system and the organizations they represent.
Collection and use of personal data
Regardless of which country you access FIDEA services, the provisions of the Regulation are followed in the processing of personal data. You are informed that your personal data may also be processed in Latvia on the basis of the law of this country. FIDEA informs you that by specifying your e-mail address, you agree that it is included in the database and that notices, information, which are related to your user account password or account status changes, a notification/reminder about the necessary documents for the provision of the FIDEA service or other information directly related to the FIDEA service and FIDEAs obligations regarding fundraising, preparation of payment documents and consulting services in relation to the Competence Center and/or Researcher. You are informed that when using the website https://kcvs.fidea.lv or https://www.fidea.lv, FIDEA can collect and store data that allows you to track and list:
• the total number of visits to websites;
• the number of visitors to each specific website;
• domain names of Internet service providers of kcvs.fidea.lv visitors;
• IP addresses;
• other data, the purpose of which is to use for the purposes of system administration, as well as to control the use of FIDEA websites and organize its improvement.
Purposes and legal bases of personal data processing
FIDEA processes personal data mainly for the following purposes and collects and stores payment request information in the KCVS system, which contains personal information related to eligible expenses of researchers, research progress and other aspects, for the following purposes:
• Fulfill FIDEAs obligation to provide services to Competence Centers and Research Providers in connection with the concluded service contracts.
• Preparation and submission of payment requests to the Central Financial and Contracts Agency;
• Preparation of explanations and clarifications for submission to the Central Financial and Contracts Agency;
• Providing information to the Council, Board and administrative institutions of the Competence Center;
• Effective promotion of management processes of Competence Centers;
• Application review and processing;
• Sending news. FIDEA processes personal data on the following legal bases:
• Fulfillment of the legal obligation determined by the regulatory act;
• To ensure legitimate interest;
• For the fulfillment of the contract with Competence Centers and Researchers who conduct research in the Competence Center, which has a contractual relationship with FIDEA.
Duration of storage of personal data
FIDEA stores personal data in accordance with the defined purposes of personal data processing and the requirements of regulatory acts, as long as at least one of the following criteria exists:
• as long as FIDEA can realize its legitimate interests in accordance with the procedures laid down in external regulatory acts;
• as long as FIDEA has a legal obligation to store data in accordance with regulatory enactments or concluded agreements with Competence Centers and/or Research Providers;
• while the data subjects consent to the relevant personal data processing is valid, if there is no other legal basis for data processing.
